Famous Yakut singers and musicians, Legentej, Klavdia and Guerman Khatylaevs, Albina Degtyareva, Ayarkhaan and others, decided to support the Olympic Games movement. They performed Scorpions’ hit “We are the champions!” in the Yakut (Sakha) language. The video was shot in the ice tunnel “The Kingdom of Everlasting Permafrost” in Yakutsk, Yakutia/Siberia in January 2010.
Hope YouTube won’t delete the soundtrack.

Thanks for posting this — are there any members of the Russian Olympic team who are from Yakutia?
Also, are the lyrics to the Sakha version written anywhere? I’d love to read them — it will be a good chance to practice the language.
Jenanne,
Unfortunately, no Yakutian athlete in the Russian Olympic team. There was a chance for one Neryungri-based hockey player to get into the Russian female team, but she didn’t make it eventually.
Unfortunately2, no lyrics of the Sakha version on the Internet.
Oh, that’s too bad! Hopefully she (and other winter athletes from Yakutia) will make it for the Sochi games in 2014!
