Have met a Yakutian horse in the village of Elges in Verkhoyansky region, North-East Yakutia, Siberia, Russia. This is female. 19 year old. Named simply Zorka (Dawn in Russian).

  1. Lovely photos! I would translate as «Yakutian horse» as it is on Wikipedia. However, as much as I could read in Russian it’s not actually a horse per se, but it’s recognised with a same difference as donkey or zebra. It looks like it’s commonly called «якутская ата» ot just «ата» in literature.
