This Tuesday Boeing 747-800 arrived in Yakutsk from Seattle for low temperature testing.

As reported, it’s still at Yakutsk Airport. Currently, we have -40 degrees Centigrade.

Great news is I am back to Yakutia! Woo hoo! Really glad to be at home, though I missed such a big event as the celebration of Ysyakh in Yakutsk.

Another Yakutia Airlines’ Boeing 737-700 NG has arrived at Yakutsk’s airport. The aircraft has performed flight directly from Budapest Franz Liszt International Airport, where it has been undergoing a preliminary maintenance at Aeroplex base, the airline’s press-service reports.

“The plane landed in Yakutsk on Monday on a direct flight from the airport of Budapest, where he was on a special basis of preparation is a form of maintenance”, – said the agency interlocutor. According to her, the aircraft will be used for interregional and international flights. “The first flight will make a brand new Boeing for 8 June to route Yakutsk to Moscow”, – explained Samsonov.

Yakutia tends to require a special attitude, because everything is here special. Its land contains a lot of natural resources. To extract them from the ground, there must be special drilling rigs that appear to be specially large-dimensioned.

How to deliver such huge machines from manufacturers located far away? Right, there must be a special huge transport. It should be nothing else, but the world’s largest ever serially-manufactured cargo airplane, Antonov An-124 Ruslan.

Yakutsk-based Yakutia Airlines got into the top 15 largest air companies in Russia, according to the civil aviation key performance indicators monitoring conducted by the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency on a result of the 2010 January – September activity.

Compared to the same period of the last year, Yakutia Airlines demonstrates a positive growth trend.

Ivan Negenblya is passing his gifts (a book about Yakutia and his own illustrated book about the Alsib history) to Luke Hopkins, Mayor of Fairbanks.

Today Yakutsk-based aviator-writer, Ivan Negenblya, who arrived with his wife, Olga, and Sergei Khatylykov, a worker of Yakutia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Alaska yesterday, has participated in the live video conference arranged between mayors of Yakutsk and Fairbanks (North Star Borough).

Previously two mayors, Yuri Zabolev and Luke Hopkins, had two tele conferences. The first one took place on June 5th, 2010 (read the news story). One of discussed issues was Mr. Negenblya’s visit to Fairbanks in October 2010 for exhibiting his Alaska-Siberia WWII Air Route black-n-white historic photographs at the Arctic Aviation Experts Conference.

YAKUTSK, Oct. 09, 2010 – To celebrate the 85th Yakutia aviation anniversary, Yakutsk Airport arranged the air show that was announced in local newspapers as a real big show for all city residents. The airport was totally open between 10.45 am till 2 pm. Any person was allowed to enter the landing strip and see planes, airport vehicles and air show.

Ivan Negenblya is telling, how he collected photographs of the Alaska-Siberia WWII Air Route.

YAKUTSK, Oct 5, 2010 – Ivan Negenblya gave a press conference in regards to his upcoming Alaska-Siberia WWII Air Route photo exhibit in the USA. The exhibit will take place during The 2010 Arctic Aviation Experts Conference in Fairbanks, Alaska, on October 12-13, 2010.

The press conference was arranged by Yakutia Airlines, that sponsored Ivan Negenblya and his wife’s travel from Yakutsk to Fairbanks. The trip between sister-cities is not cheap and not easy, especially for the writer, who is using a wheelchair and has never traveled out of Yakutsk since the accident that had limited his abilities decades ago.
