The 2nd day of Ilya’s Elanka — Buotama — Lena Pillars trip was also dedicated to fishing, but on the Buotama River, a Lena River tributary. The 1st day, as you know, was spent in the village of Elanka. The Buotama River mouth is located just in front of the Bulgunnyahtakh village (a neighboring settlement north off Elanka, a few minutes by a ride) on the east side of the Lena River. In August 2009, I was lucky to visit Canadian wood bisons roaming on the territory of farm in the area of Lena Pillars National Park by the Buotama River. They were transferred in April 2006. See the above pics. By the time of my visit there were already 39 species (26 four-year-old and 13 calves). Right now the first transferred herd expanded to 47 species. With yesterday’s arrived bisons, the total quantity became 77.
